Steel & Tube, one of New Zealand’s leading steel solutions providers with a 70-year legacy, is seeking a skilled Key Account Manager - Stainless & Aluminium to join our Auckland team. You’ll drive sales, manage key accounts, and foster growth in our stainless and aluminium divisions. This role suits a specialist with industry experience or a motivated supervisor-level candidate ready to step up, passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and achieving sales targets.

 

As the Key Account Manager, you’ll leverage your stainless and/or aluminium expertise to build strong relationships with key customers in construction, manufacturing, and engineering. You’ll work closely with the Regional Manager to identify new business opportunities, implement sales strategies, and mentor internal sales teams to enhance their product knowledge and account management skills. From processing orders to supporting warehouse functions, you’ll ensure seamless operations and ‘customer delight’ while driving profitable growth. Your role will involve using tools like HubSpot, Netstock, and TOP 8 Sales Process to track performance and optimise outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow key accounts in stainless and aluminium, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales growth
  • Mentor internal sales teams to build expertise and enhance performance
  • Process orders, handle customer queries, and support operations as needed
  • Implement sales and marketing strategies to maximise product range potential
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

 

About You:

  • Proven experience in stainless or aluminium sales, ideally in steel or related industries
  • Intrinsic knowledge of New Zealand’s Stainless and/or Aluminium industries
  • Strong customer relationship and account management skills
  • Ability to mentor and coach teams, with excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) and sales forecasting tools
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work independently
  • Supervisor-level candidates with industry knowledge are encouraged to apply
