Steel & Tube, one of New Zealand’s premier steel solutions providers with over 70 years of history, seeks a driven Auckland Regional Sales Manager to lead our external sales function across Auckland to Northland. Based in Auckland, you’ll spearhead sales strategies, foster a ‘One Company’ culture, and drive profitable growth in steel, stainless, aluminium, and fasteners. This pivotal role suits a hands-on leader, including senior account managers ready to step up, passionate about building customer relationships and achieving ambitious targets.

 

As the Auckland Regional Sales Manager, you’ll lead and inspire a talented sales team, working closely with the Regional Manager and Group Product Managers to align strategies and maximise Steel & Tube’s diverse product range. You’ll be hands-on, joining account managers in client meetings to strengthen relationships with key customers in construction, infrastructure, and manufacturing. Your focus will be on driving sales performance, optimising margins, and ensuring superior customer service while maintaining a safe, compliant workplace. With strong P&L experience, you’ll manage budgets, develop growth strategies, and foster collaboration across business units like MSL and Roofing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach external sales teams to exceed sales and profitability targets
  • Build enduring relationships with key customers and national merchants
  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with the ‘One Company’ vision
  • Oversee P&L, budgeting, and forecasting to drive financial performance
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Mentor sales staff to enhance skills and foster a collaborative team culture

 

About You:

  • Proven success in leading sales teams, ideally in steel or related industries
  • Strong P&L management and business unit leadership experience
  • Hands-on approach, with a passion for customer engagement and team coaching
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and strategic planning skills
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements
