Steel & Tube, one of New Zealand’s premier steel solutions providers with over 70 years of history, is seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to join our Auckland Roll Forming team. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless, on-time deliveries while maintaining high safety and efficiency standards in a fast-paced environment.

As a Logistics Coordinator, you’ll work closely with transport providers, customers, and internal teams to orchestrate the delivery of steel products, from roofing materials to structural beams. You’ll schedule trucks, manage long-length loads, and ensure compliance with NZ Land Transport Safety laws, all while upholding our commitment to exceptional customer service. This role involves overseeing stock management, maintaining tidy dispatch areas using 5S principles, and reporting on delivery KPIs to drive continuous improvement. You’ll also liaise with contractors to ensure their drivers adhere to safety protocols and contract terms, fostering strong relationships to meet company goals. With hands-on training and a supportive team, this role is perfect for a proactive individual ready to make an impact in a dynamic logistics hub.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate timely and accurate deliveries, meeting customer expectations
• Schedule trucks and manage long-length loads with Transporters
• Assist in stock takes and cycle to be done when discrepancies are found
• Purchase receipting and labelling of products
• Compiling of runs into different areas and preparing paperwork for drivers
• Email and verbal communication with Internal and External customers promptly
• Ensure dispatch areas meet 5S housekeeping standards
• Monitor transport providers for efficiency and compliance with safety laws
• Communicate proactively with customers and internal teams on delivery updates
• Report weekly/monthly on delivery KPIs, addressing issues promptly
• Addressing stock issues, loading errors, and off-loading issues promptly

About You:

• 5+ years in a logistics role, ideally supervising a small team
• Strong knowledge of NZ geography and safe loading practices
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills with attention to detail
• Familiarity with NZ Land Transport Safety laws and Health & Safety policies
• Competent in numerical tasks and Microsoft Office; ERP experience a plus
• Current driver’s license, clear of citations
• Knowledge of steel products is desirable
