Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining full product traceability, receipting inwards goods, and ensuring inventory accuracy across our national network—supporting everything from structural beams to farm fencing in sectors like construction, engineering, and manufacturing.

In this hands-on position, you’ll dive into the heart of warehouse operations, collaborating with the wider Distribution, Sales, and Customer Service teams to uphold a ‘One Company’ approach. From auditing heat certificates for compliance to resolving traceability challenges and isolating damaged stock for optimal recovery, your meticulous work will safeguard our supply chain integrity. You’ll also assist with cycle counts, stock adjustments, and dispatch processes, while sourcing test certificates to meet customer needs promptly, ensuring seamless service that builds trust and drives business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and receipt inwards goods, verify shipments, and label products accurately
  • Source and supply test certificates to customers, collaborating with the supply chain and suppliers
  • Support cycle counting, stock takes, and ad hoc checks to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Isolate damaged stock, manage claims, and adhere to health, safety, and quality standards
  • Handle administrative tasks like reports, office supplies, and documentation filing

About You:

  • Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in warehouse environments and inventory management, ideally in building industries
  • Sound problem-solving, logical thinking, and effective communication skills
  • Computer literate, with the ability to read/write clearly and work collaboratively
  • Medium fitness level for lifting, truck access, and frequent office-warehouse movement
  • Honest, ethical team player focused on customer service and safety compliance

Why Join Us? Steel & Tube offers a collaborative culture where your contributions shape New Zealand’s steel landscape. With flexible practices, growth opportunities, and a supportive team, you’ll thrive in an environment that values integrity, innovation, and ‘One Company’ success.
