Steel & Tube, New Zealand’s leading steel solutions provider with over 70 years of history, is seeking a proactive Dispatcher to join our Auckland Reo & Wire team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll orchestrate efficient, cost-effective deliveries in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role suits a sharp, organised individual ready to step up, including supervisor-level candidates eager for the next challenge.
As a Dispatcher, you’ll work closely with the operations team, production planners, and transport providers to ensure seamless delivery schedules for short and long-haul orders. You’ll juggle multiple tasks, optimise truck loads, and maintain clear communication with internal teams and external drivers to meet DIFOT targets. Your problem-solving skills will shine as you tackle transport challenges, prepare delivery documentation, and uphold our high safety standards under the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015. This role offers hands-on training and support, with plenty of team members available to answer questions, making it ideal for a driven candidate ready to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate deliveries, maximising loads and minimising costs
- Communicate proactively with drivers, site managers, and internal teams
- Prepare delivery dockets and consignment bookings accurately
- Solve transport issues swiftly, escalating when needed
- Ensure compliance with NZTA regulations and company H&S policies
About You:
- 2+ years in logistics or transport, with supervisor-level candidates welcome
- Strong multitasking and communication skills, with great attention to detail
- Knowledge of NZ geography, truck load limits, and H&S practices
- Competent in Microsoft Office; ERP experience is a plus
- Forklift license or crane operator skills are desirable but not essential
