As Specification Manager – Roll Forming, you will play a key role in growing ComFlor and Purlins’ market share and strengthening our brand presence across the construction landscape. Reporting to the National Specification Manager, this Auckland-based role offers a high level of autonomy, combining strategic market engagement with hands-on collaboration. With a strong focus on ComFlor composite steel flooring and purlins, you will also actively promote roofing, wall cladding, and other roll-forming products. Working closely with structural engineers and architects, you will influence design decisions early, build trusted relationships, and drive product specification. The role involves lead generation, relationship management, and progress tracking—owning the specification lifecycle from initial pitch through to handover of qualified opportunities to the sales team.

In this position, you'll dive deep into the specification process: scouting opportunities at seminars, conferences, and exhibitions; partnering with internal experts like Commercial Managers, Technical Sales Engineers, and our Composite Floor Decks Limited (CFDL) crew to provide tailored solutions to specifiers. You'll monitor trademark compliance to safeguard our ComFlor integrity, advocate for sustainable practices, and drive continuous improvements by staying ahead of industry trends – all while upholding Steel & Tube's core values of unity, openness, trust, integrity, and accountability. Travel will be key to connecting with stakeholders nationwide, but flexible work options support work-life balance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building enduring ties with structural engineers, architects, designers, specifiers, and construction design teams to secure specs
  • Identifying and chasing new opportunities and project leads for ComFlor, purlins, roofing, cladding, and beyond – collaborating with sales and Subject Matter Experts for seamless handoffs
  • Boosting brand awareness through marketing initiatives, industry events, and seminars, while ensuring all materials align with brand guidelines
  • Liaising with leadership on strategic specs, providing feedback loops for product evolution, and hitting – or exceeding – targets

About You:

  • 3+ years in structural engineering, construction, or related fields (composite steel flooring experience is a big plus) to engage credibly
  • Proven stakeholder relationship skills, with a knack for navigating technical details, NZ building codes, and spec workflows
  • Stellar communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities; resilient, solutions-oriented, and adaptable to market shifts
  • Fast learner and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly
  • Passionate about collaborative teamwork
