Role Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career professional, recent graduate, or experienced Analyst. You'll build expertise in pricing analytics, commercial decision-making, ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX), and how pricing directly influences business performance and margins.
As a Data Analyst in our Pricing Team, you'll play a key role in maintaining and optimising pricing structures, extracting actionable insights from transactional data, and supporting accurate, consistent pricing aligned with commercial goals. You'll work closely with the National Pricing Manager, sales teams, Group Product Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure pricing supports profitable outcomes across the business.
This role is the foundation of a clear career pathway, with structured development toward senior pricing responsibilities, including strategy execution, ERP pricing design and margin optimisation.

Beyond day-to-day support, you'll contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by actively reviewing pricing requests and processes. We value someone who doesn't just process changes but questions them thoughtfully: "Does this make commercial sense? Is there a better, more efficient way?" You'll be encouraged to push back constructively, make suggestions that reduce manual overrides, improve accuracy, or capture better outcomes, and challenge the status quo in a collaborative, business-focused way.
This proactive mindset is essential, whether identifying opportunities in data trends, recommending adjustments based on market/cost signals, or helping streamline workflows for the team and sales force.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and govern pricing data in Microsoft Dynamics AX
- Assist with pricing updates, product-level maintenance, and system improvements
- Extract, clean, and analyse sales/transactional data to spot trends, issues, and pricing opportunities
- Deliver clear, actionable insights and reports (KPIs, margin analysis, pricing performance) to non-technical stakeholders
- Support compliance checks, win/loss reviews, and effectiveness assessments
- Monitor competitors, market conditions, and commodity trends to inform pricing recommendations
- Join pricing projects, process enhancements, and initiatives to boost accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborate with ERP/Master Data teams to strengthen pricing integrity
- Develop toward building pricing models, tools, and reporting capabilities.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Data/Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related (or equivalent strong experience)
- Solid analytical/problem-solving skills and confidence in handling data
- ERP experience (ideally Microsoft Dynamics AX or comparable)
- Knowledge of steel, construction materials, or industrial products (helpful for context).
- Commercial mindset, attention to detail, logical approach
- Curiosity, initiative, and eagerness to grow into senior pricing/commercial roles
- Proactive attitude: comfortable questioning requests, suggesting improvements, and pushing back constructively for business benefit
- Intermediate-advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic modelling)
- Familiarity with data visualisation (Power BI, Tableau)
