About the Role

This is a key leadership role within our specialist Chain & Rigging team. You will lead the regional commercial performance and people leadership for Chain & Rigging services and products, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality mobile testing and inspection services to customers across the region.

You’ll own regional sales growth and customer engagement, coach and develop a team of Service Technicians to optimise service delivery. The role balances hands-on technical support, team leadership, disciplined sales execution, and strong commercial outcomes, all within Steel & Tube’s integrated “One Company” approach across Distribution and other divisions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive regional revenue and margin growth through new account activation, customer recovery, share-of-wallet expansion, and execution of Area Engagement Plans.
  • Provide strong people leadership to Chain & Rigging Service Technicians by setting clear expectations, coaching for performance, safety, and commercial awareness.
  • Own regional customer relationships for Chain & Rigging, working collaboratively with Distribution Account Managers to deliver integrated solutions and increase market penetration.
  • Ensure consistent, safe, and compliant service delivery while reinforcing technical standards and best practices across the team and broader business.
  • Act as the regional technical authority for Chain & Rigging products and applications, supporting complex customer work and providing guidance to branch teams.
  • Partner with the Van Operations Specialist on capacity planning and service optimisation, while maintaining clear role boundaries in the matrixed operating model.
  • Use data and commercial judgement to improve performance, maintain inventory discipline, and contribute to sustainable regional EBIT outcomes.

 

About You

You’re a practical, hands-on leader with strong commercial acumen and a technical background in Chain & Rigging, lifting equipment, cranes, or a related industrial field. You’ve successfully led regional sales/service teams (or are ready to step up with proven leadership potential), and you thrive on building customer relationships while getting your hands dirty when needed.

You combine a good technical brain with the ability to coach and develop people, drive disciplined sales activity, and deliver profitable growth. Excellent communication, safety leadership, and the credibility to engage effectively with technicians, customers, and internal stakeholders are essential. Experience in a mobile/service-enabled operating model is highly regarded.
