We’re looking for a motivated and personable Service Technician to join our Chain & Rigging team in Auckland for a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, building strong customer relationships, and delivering high-quality technical service in the lifting and height safety sector.

About the Role:

You’ll operate a fully equipped mobile testing vehicle, visiting customers across the Auckland region. This customer-facing position combines practical technical work with proactive service and relationship building. You’ll deliver on-site testing, certification, repairs, and maintenance of lifting and height safety equipment, while actively promoting our testing programmes and related products.

You’ll manage your own customer visit schedule, maintain accurate lifting registers and compliance records, identify sales opportunities, and ensure every customer interaction adds real value through reliable service and expert advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting on-site testing, certification, repair, and maintenance of lifting and height safety equipment
  • Operating and maintaining a fully equipped mobile workshop vehicle
  • Planning and executing regular customer visits to ensure ongoing compliance and service
  • Promoting our mobile testing service and identifying opportunities for additional products
  • Keeping detailed records, managing stock levels in the van, and processing invoices promptly
  • Delivering excellent customer service and meeting performance targets
  • Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and quality

What We’re Looking For

  • Practical mechanical, servicing, or hands-on technical experience (advantageous but not essential)
  • A positive, self-motivated attitude with strong initiative and reliability
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build genuine relationships
  • Good communicator who is comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer literacy (training provided)
