Steel & Tube is looking for a talented Specification Manager to champion our specification efforts across the South Island. 

As the Specification Manager – South Island, you’ll be at the forefront of growing our specification business and increasing brand awareness within the construction sector. Based in Christchurch, this autonomous role focuses on delivering solutions for our roofing, cladding, and Rollforming product range, including ComFlor and Purlins. 

This is the perfect role to launch your career in the New Year, with a 2025 start giving you a fresh opportunity to lead and grow. You’ll work closely with architects, specifiers, structural engineers, and construction design teams to secure specifications and expand Steel & Tube’s market share. By collaborating with internal sales and technical teams, you’ll ensure project leads are nurtured from concept to completion, representing a trusted name in New Zealand’s steel solutions. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with architects, specifiers, and construction professionals
• Drive specifications and identify new business opportunities across the South Island
• Stay informed on industry trends to proactively expand our market presence
• Represent Steel & Tube at key industry events, forums, and exhibitions
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions and support project success 

About You:

We’re looking for a proactive, self-motivated professional with a strong background in specifications, architecture, or construction. Your understanding of building materials and industry dynamics will enable you to thrive in this role. 

To be successful, you’ll bring: 

• Experience in specifications or a related field
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to connect with technical and design professionals
• Knowledge of roofing, cladding, and industrial building materials
• Familiarity with architectural drawings, NZ building codes, and the specification process
• Excellent communication and project management skills
