As the National Plate Processing Manager you will drive the performance of the Plate Processing functions (Auckland & Christchurch) with direct sales and operational accountability. You will lead the strategic direction of the Plate Processing business unit including further expansion internally and support any external growth opportunities.
This is a strategic leadership role that combines technical expertise, operational excellence, and a customer-first approach. With a 2025 start, it’s the perfect opportunity to set a new direction for the year ahead and lead significant growth in this key area.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Expanding market share by building strong customer relationships and identifying new growth opportunities
- Driving operational efficiency, safety, and quality across all plate processing functions
- Collaborating with internal teams to optimize processing capabilities and ensure customer satisfaction
- Leading the development of business cases for expansion and new capital investments
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to position Steel & Tube as a market leader
About You
We’re looking for a proactive, strategic leader with a strong background in the steel or similar industries. Your ability to combine commercial acumen, technical expertise, and team leadership will be key to success in this role.
To be successful, you’ll bring:
- 10+ years of operational management experience in the steel or similar industries
- A proven track record in sales growth, customer relationship management, and delivering results
- Strong technical understanding of steel processing and manufacturing
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- The ability to foster collaboration across teams and drive innovation

This role is based in Auckland, with travel across the North Island and occasional visits to Christchurch.
